Merryn Kelly started Third Form in 2014, after studying at the Fashion Design Studio at Sydney TAFE and working in design roles at Zimmermann, Shakuhachi and Lee Jeans. In 2017 the label was a finalist for the VAMFF National Designer Award.
Third Form makes minimal, structured womenswear with a focus on texture and shape, cut to move from work to evening. Its prints start as artwork drawn in-house. Garments are produced in small batches, using a "test and reorder" approach to avoid overproduction, and samples and seconds go to charity dress stores rather than landfill.
