Aje was founded in 2008 by best friends Adrian Norris and Edwina Forest. Norris trained at the Liceo Artistico Venezia art school in Venice, and Forest worked at the fashion magazine RUSSH. The label has stores in Australia and New Zealand.
Collections play toughness against femininity and volume against structure, mixing everyday pieces with statement occasionwear. Prints begin as watercolour or acrylic paintings before they are digitised, and sequins on embellished pieces are sewn by hand.
