Camilla Franks is the founder and creative director of CAMILLA. The label launched at Australian Fashion Week in 2004 with a runway show staged as a fashion opera. Twice a year Franks travels abroad for inspiration, then returns to Sydney to design each collection with an in-house team of artists and designers.
The label is known for its prints, which are hand drawn or hand painted in-house and drawn from those trips. Silk pieces are hand cut and sewn, with embroidery and crystals applied by hand by artisans at its main partner in India. Nearly all of its swimwear uses ECONYL recycled nylon, and CAMILLA is a certified B Corp.
