Rowie

Rowie Moore grew up in an alternative community in the Northern Rivers of NSW and left school at fourteen to make clothes. She sold handmade pieces at markets for years before releasing the first Rowie collection from Byron Bay, where the family-run label is still based. Her daughter Maya now works with her as Head of Brand.

The designs lean on colour and print, with a focus on silk, lace and knitwear in merino, cashmere and alpaca, alongside cotton, denim and linen. Production runs are small and the label uses natural materials where it can. Some of its knitwear and apparel is made by family-run factories in China.
