Matteau

Matteau describes itself as a modern lifestyle company based in Australia. The name joins "matt", as in not shiny, with "eau", the French word for water, and the design approach is to keep things simple and considered.

The range covers dresses, shirting and tailoring alongside swimwear, all designed to outlast a single season. Matteau works closely with Australian manufacturers and makes as much as it can locally, going offshore only where the technique or scale isn't available here. Its poplins are made from certified organic cotton processed in a GOTS-certified supply chain, and its swimwear uses recycled nylons including Repreve and Econyl.
